Would it be easier to improve the international relations if we all spoken the same language? It seems to be. But, before we answer this question, we have to think about international relations foundations. Is it spoken language for real? Or maybe the key for better international relations is, simply, understanding?
It is obvious that language skills are important if we want to communicate with people who represents other language areas and, undoubtedly , more convenient if two speakers can make a conversation, without a help of professional translator. For me, language skills can help us to communicate with people from our culture circle. What I mean is that when British and Pole both known French, they can understand each other better than British and Japanese (as the second one presents different way of thinking).
If we want to improve the international relations, we just have to remember that other cultures have different values, beliefs, etc. However, we have no right to think that only our way of life is the right one and the others are symbols of evil. Simply, if Poland wants to have good relation with Egypt it needs to accept all the differences which Egypt presents.
To summarise , my view in this issue is that only understanding connected with tolerance can help us to make international relations better.
